Does anyone know what brand uses the horse in a hoop logo? I'm not sure what it is but I have used that file all year and it still cuts like new. The file on the left is one I picked up from fleabay last winter and was advertised as a vallorbe or equivalent. Sorry for the crappy picture, but it's a crappy file. I even clean the gullet out and way back under with several strokes of a small round file first so the double bevel has less work to do and is easier to keep in the corner and control while filing. Just my luck, if there's a bad one in the barrel, I seem to find it. Heat treatment must have gotten botched on this one. It was used to sharpen 3 chains and it is falling apart. The first pic has the Bahco on the right. The one I gave him seems fine but the one I used is chipping all apart. I'm pretty sure he is now a convert.Īnyway, one of the Bahco files that came was not quite up to snuff. He caught on real quick and did a nice job. I'm keeping one and the other is for the nephew who wanted to learn square filing. I ordered two of those Bahco files from Abolox to try.
